Melbourne Law School Mentor Program

Melbourne Law School is pleased to introduce a Mentor Program to complement orientation for first year students. It aims to support students' formal academic training by providing a link to the profession and exposure to the practical realities of working in the law. The program is designed to motivate and encourage students and provide them with a sense of direction for their career path.

The Program will provide new students with a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the profession, develop networks and explore career options.

Mentors are carefully matched to students with an interest in the mentor's practice areas. Career mentors and students meet three to four times per year.

The program for 2009 commenced with an official launch on 11 May 2009 and continues to the end of the academic year in November.

Mentors are encouraged to register all year-round. Accomplished professionals with three years or more post admission experience, are particularly encouraged to apply. Further information on being a mentor and the registration procedure is available here.

Students can apply to participate in the program during the first few weeks of Semester 1. Full details and the application procedure will be announced during the Orientation week.
