Preparing for Work
Preparing for Work seminars are small events designed to help students gather information and develop skills to get the job they want.
These sessions are presented by members of the legal profession and usually held over the lunch hour. They are an opportunity for students to meet with members of the profession and hear about preparation directly from them.
Some examples of recent seminars include:
- Considering PLT? ANU Legal Workshop, Leo Cussen Institute & College of Law
- Fit to Practise: the rationale underlying the test and how ithas been applied in admission proceedings (Linda Haller, Melbourne Law School)
- Traineeships and Seasonal Clerkships – Changes to the recruitment calendar (Anna Alexander, Young Lawyers Manager, LIV)
- How to get a job in Australia (Jensen Ma, Tan & Tan)
- Current visa issues - Know the facts (Jensen Ma, Tan & Tan)
- Networking and accessing the hidden job market
- Ace that interview! (Alicia Dwyer, Maurice Blackburn)
- CV and cover letter writing workshop (Stephanie Beard, Harwood Andrews Lawyers)
